Silt and sludge

Silt (fine sand, clay, and other similar material) is carried by running water and deposited as a sediment in lakes, ponds and slow moving rivers, whilst sludge is often made up of thick, soft, wet mud.

The build-up of silt and sludge can be problematic and endanger wetland areas as well as wildlife.

Due to the nature of silt and sludge, vacuum pumping is often required in order to remove it from site.
